	Before and After Care An extension of the school day is provided for students in all grades whose parents choose it. Caring supervision is given by mature, well-qualified personnel who are CPR and First Aid certified. After care provides children with a time for relaxation and activities of their choosing. After a snack is served, a 30-45 minute supervised time is given for completion of homework. Arts, crafts and games provide a change of pace several times a week. Opportunity is also given for children to attend music or art lessons, intramural basketball or chess club.
Before and after care is billed at the rate of $3.85 per child for every hour (or any portion thereof) your child is there. The rate of a second child in a family will be billed at $1.90 per hour. Before care begins at 7:00 a.m. and ends at 7:45 a.m. After care begins at 3:00 p.m. (3:15 for Grades 6-8) and ends at 6:00 p.m. Parents are billed monthly for this charge. A one-time registration fee of $40.00 must be paid before a child can use before or after care.
Sonny Days Camp During the summer, an all-day program provides stimulating activities and a daily, off-campus field trip. Theme weeks, swimming, roller skating, bowling and ice skating are all a part of the Sonny Days Camp experience. Educational outings such as to the Museum of Science & Industry (MOSI) and attendance at local sports events are on the SDC itinerary. Lunch is provided and included in the weekly rate of $150. Care is provided by nurturing counselors from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. each day.
