Our Elementary program encourages children to develop their God-given talents and abilities. Elementary teachers cultivate a challenging and supportive atmosphere that focuses on individual needs. A vital component of our elementary program is the team formed by teachers, administrators and parents which ensures each student’s success.
Each elementary classroom is designed to provide a creative and fun environment that stimulates educational growth. Our teachers incorporate strong spiritual and social development with challenging curriculum to give your child a rich and competent education. |
Our Elementary academic program is founded on core subjects of Language Arts, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies. During your child’s elementary years at SPCS, a great emphasis will be placed on reading, writing, vocabulary and spelling. Technology is a vital component of the curriculum of SPCS, which includes state of the art technology lab, Smart Board technology and software in order to enhance instruction. Students also use the STAR and Accelerated Reading software program at all grade levels. STAR evaluates each students reading level and identifies reading strengths and weaknesses of each student, enabling teachers to focus on building particular reading skills. Accelerated Reading assesses reading comprehension and improves reading levels of students. Grade-level appropriate math, science, social studies, music, art, Spanish, physical education, computer and library skills are also fundamental components of our program.
