Talent Identification Program
The Duke TIP program recognizes students who have demonstrated academic aptitude through exceptionally high standardized testing scores. This program provides enrichment activities that allow gifted students extra motivation and support through online enrichment, writing contests, exclusive publications, advanced testing, and recognition. Students who are selected by the Guidance Department scored within the top 5% of students in a subtest of the Stanford 10 or the OLSAT (intelligence test). Because of the high caliber of student, and the rigorous curriculum offered at SPCS, in the 2009-2010 school year, 60% of 5th grade students had qualifying scores to be referred to the highly reputable Duke Talent Identification Program.
