St. Petersburg Christian School was envisioned by its founders to be a lighthouse, spreading the light of Jesus Christ throughout the community. With the supportive under girding of Suncoast Cathedral, the school welcomes families of many faiths. More than 120 churches are represented within the student body.
The purpose of instruction at SPCS is found in the greatest commandment, to "love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength and to love your neighbor as yourself." Mark 12:30-31
Mornings at St. Petersburg Christian begin with prayer and Bible is taught as a daily subject. A weekly chapel service gives students opportunity for praise, worship and to hear messages from guest speakers. Each class chooses a missions project, reaching out to share God's love with neighbors, those in nursing homes and missionaries in distant countries.
An annual Spiritual Emphasis Week gives both Elementary and Middle School students an opportunity to re-examine their beliefs and deepen their faith. The goal of all instruction is to help young people choose to live by the "Golden Rule" and to exemplify Christ's teachings.
